Hello and Merry Christmas to you…..

This year the girls got front and center on the Christmas card. We love our girls and they love one another so….Sofie is the blond and Annie is the brunette. I had gotten some of the best pictures of the girls and when completing the photo shoot we realized we did not have a photo card in the camera. Oh , my have you ever had a day like this?

Our favorite Christmas treats are being baked at our house this week.

English Toffee

IMG_2932This recipe is a great one if you like english toffee. I have many requests for this recipe and for the candy it self. I love it so I have to give it away quickly or I over indulge….oh dear.

Sand Tarts

IMG_7740This is my grandmothers recipe. Everyone loves this little cookie, easy to make and keeps well. These are my dad’s favorite, buttery little cookie with pecans.

Date Nut Balls

IMG_7700I make these cookies for Hannah and I.  This is our treat while making our gingerbread houses. This is another recipe I got handed down from my grand mother. An ole timey favorite treat. My brother and sister love them too.

Thumb Print Cookies

IMG_7714These are Mr Fixit and Son’s favorite Christmas treat. They are a wonderful cookie a little more complicated than the others but not to difficult. I show you step by step instrutions how to make them.

Then the following week we will be making gingerbread houses, to decorate our Christmas table.  I do have many other items here on the blog for you to bake for Christmas treats.  Items to share and gifts to make for others, please look around and see what interest you. Please click the little blue link and it will take you right to the recipe.

I do hope you will try something new this year. I have several things on my list. I will share those items that impress us enough to record for future use.

I wish you all a great baking week….have you finished your shopping? I have done a lot but still have a few things on my list. This year I am having a hard time finding some great new things for those hard to buy for loved ones. We have scaled down the items we purchase….had rather all take a fun trip together, spending time with the ones we love.

Smiles….happy baking

Angie
