I know another post about traveling… I promise, I will get back to cooking soon. Promise! Oh but, it is so fun to see new places in this great country of ours isn’t it??
Crater Lake is the cleanest, deepest, clearest body of water in the world. Wow what a statement! It is such a beautiful place. We flew into Portland again, we love visiting Portland and drove down. What an amazing drive, so beautiful I am so glad we got to see this area of the country. I did not get many great shots of the area, due to the Forrest fires. I was so sad, we went to Bend and did not get any great shots due to the smoke. Oh, well I will just have to return. Such a great little town, we loved it, and the Food !
I was so worried when we got to Crater Lake it would be closed due to the fires. They did have the north entrance closed but, we drove on down to the south entrance and it was open. YEA! You can see the smoke in the distance see it? Some places the smoke was so thick it was hard to see. So, thankful the fires are out now.
The water is such an amazing intense deep blue, I had been told this and really can’t understand until you see it, just this brilliant color of blue. Centuries of rain and snow filled the basin, forming a deep blue lake of unmatched color and clarity any place else. All I could say was WOW it is so blue…it is! Beautiful ! Corny, I know ! oh well ! Put it on your Bucket list! Worth the trip!
