Christmas at Our House

December 2, 2015 by Angie 1 Comment

Angie's House at Christmas Time
Welcome….and Merry Christmas.
I will say Christmas is a season, I love! I love getting together with friends and family spending quality time together. I remember as a small child my grandfather would dress up like Santa Clause. He was such a wonderful jolly happy man. He could sing like no other. He would sing all the old favorites and my grandmother would play the piano and the two of them could put on the best show. Then the 2 could cook as well.  You would be in for such a treat if you visited their home they cooked and entertained like no others. So, this is where I got my love for Ole St. Nick from my sweet papaw. He was such a generous wonderful soul. The Christmas Season they always had many guest at their home.
Angie's Dinning Room
This is our dinning room which is in the Old World St Nick decor.
Tree at night | Tree at day
My tree is also decorated in mostly old world Santas. See my mom has a Christmas shop…this is why I have soOOo many Christmas things. PARTLY! But, the truth is I love Christmas stuff who doesn’t right? I have many old timey mercury ornaments and one night during the night our tree fell. BAM ! Who knows why, we still wonder? Mr. Fixit and I thought the world was coming to an end. It was such a loud explosion. But, no it was just the tree, needless to say we had many casualties in the fall. I was so sad. I did have some that lived through it….thank goodness.
Welcome ....better watch out Santa is watching
This picture was taken before the gifts had been put under the tree…see I have a son that peeks. So, I do not wrap and put them under the tree until the week of Christmas….grrrrr!
Angie's at Christmas time
See this is our living room…do you see all the books? They are some of the cookbooks, ran out of room in the kitchen. I have issues with those too. Santa and cookbooks…only. I had a local artist do the little paintings see them on the books, love them. I have tried to get her, to do….. you got it a SANTA!! I have not been successful yet. I am not giving up.
Santa Lights
Years ago I started collecting these Santa lights from Germany. I wish I had collected all of them. I do have many and have them all over the house. I love them even after all these years. Aren’t they sweet?
another Santa collection
Then when I first got married my mom gave me a Santa Limoges every year for Christmas. I love them oh so beautiful. Each one is representing a different country.
Santa
These Santa’s came from our trip to Germany. They are pewter and are hand painted. I love the detail on them.cocoa station
This year I set up a hot chocolate station in the kitchen at my desk. We just enjoyed looking at something different.
Merry Christmas Cheer
My mom also started me on the Christmas Carolers….each year I would get one that looked one person or another. Until I had one that looked like almost everyone in my family. I am the baker, see me over to the left? I even have a dog that looks like my dear sweet Maggy. Miss you ! I decorate my black board with something seasonal. More Santas…love them.
Gingerbread HouseI always have gingerbread houses at Christmas. This is a tradition my grandmother started with me as a young child. This is one I still carry on at my house. I love planning what kind of house to make and what it will look like. I build one every year with my sweet God daughter Hannah.

I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Take time to spend some quality time with those that matter most in your life. May God bless you.

I would love for you to follow along with Angie’s Southern Kitchen by getting our post each time. Please sign up over to your right and follow along. You can get an email or RSS Feed. Have a lovely day and you come back soon now you hear.
Smiles….
Angie
