A friends daughter is getting married soon….the end of June. We celebrated the day by showering her with gifts for her new kitchen. You know me, love anything to do with cooking! Her wedding colors are lavender, so in keeping with the theme and color scheme, I tried to have a lovely lavender shower. It was a beautiful spring day, cool out with a light breeze honey suckle in the air and birds singing such a lovely day. It could not have been a more beautiful day! We dined on the screened porch enjoying the day.
I had these large white tea cups, I wanted to use as the vases. I love using Suwane Towne Florist. She made us some fabulous arrangements with her colors and keeping with the kitchen shower…see the cabbage isn’t it beautiful ? Loved them! I love the way they turned out…love using these girls always pleased with their work.
I had little baby wedding cakes made for each guest and had them on a little itty bitty cake stand, in lavender. The cookies are made of a short bread cookie and iced. They came out so cute.
I had cookies made in the shape of wedding cakes and wedding gowns. The cookies are iced in white with a lavender monogram on them so, so sweet. They are precious aren’t they, I will say they tasted even better than they looked. Most of the time I order things like this they aren’t so good. But, these are so tasty …these are the best! The Wedding Cookies I had made by the wonderful girls at the Patio Bakery . They are the best little small town bakery, love to pop in for a cookie or lunch. Try them ! Great Job girls we loved them!
We served peach bellinis as each guest arrived. Then once all the ladies had joined us we served a southern light plate lunch. We served a scoop of chicken salad, an orange soufflé, cheese straw cucumber sandwich and pimento cheese sandwich for their lunch.
We had a variety of cookies for dessert that is the brides favorite. We had chocolate chip, chocolate chewys, heart shaped wedding cookie, thumb print, in addition to the others. We served ice cold milk in baby milk bottles with the cookies, tea, punch and flavored water.
As our party favors we gave out measuring spoons in the shape of hearts. We had each guest bring their favorite recipe to share with the new bride.
Thanks..Melissa for all your help and hard work you are a doll! XOXOX
We wish you both a wonderful new life together Brittney and Jackson. Wishing you all the best!
May God Bless you!
