We have a sweet dear friend Sarah and she is expecting her first baby. Oh, how exciting this time is in a young couples lives. I can remember how excited Mr. Fixit and I were to have our first baby. We have known Sarah since the day she came in to this world. We wanted this day to be special for her and her husband. I have such a soft spot in my heart for little boys. So, I did go a little over board with all the preparations. I did have fun planning and decorating for this event.
Over to the right across the french doors, I put up a little clothes line and clipped up matching baby clothes baby blue with baby elephants. I made a bunting flag banner to go across the dessert table. See up above?
We had the cutest cake I have ever seen….no, I did not make this cake. I ordered this cake from Highland Bakery. I showed the bakers what I wanted and they did an amazing job on this cake. The best part was it tasted as good as it looked. Thanks to the amazing bakers at Highland Bakery. I will never buy a cake any place else.
I got an old wheel barrow lined it with matching blue fabric and stacked it with baby gifts and baby things. Got matching balloons and tied them on the handle. It came out really cute.
I got a box of these great signs they are made by creative coop….my mom sales these signs in her gift shop. I made a bow and hot glued some critters I purchased from Hobby Lobby. I got some great new chalk board markers from the internet, and I put my message on the signs. CUTE!!
I do love this cake, I love the little elephant. They did a wonderful job on the detail.
I purchaced plain cheap cookie jars from Target. I found a great matching blue ribbon, hot glued it on then I put matching labels on each. This dresses them up and then all the items match on the table.
We got sweet little bay boy onesie cookies to match the colors. They came out really darling.
The little blue and white baby booties are made from meringue. Light and crunchy cookies. We placed one on each place setting to dress up the tables.
These are our favorite cookies in the Target Jars. We had Everything Cookies the recipe is on the site in past post. There is the Chocolate Chews’ which is also on past post.
Sarah loves pavlova’s so we came up with a new flavor for her special day. I will post the recipe on a later date. These pavlovas had a passion fruit curd with fresh blackberries and a chantilly whipped cream. We had strawberry shortcake in addition to all the other sweets for those who wanted another choice…Too much Sugar! We did serve a light lunch to go with all the sweets. We served a salad, with homemade dressing, cheese straws, cream of mushroom soup, tomato basil with croutons, a hot chicken dish and yeast rolls.
My sweet friend is one of the best event planners in Atlanta Area so the pressure was on to put a smile on her sweet face. If you need an event planner for any party or event please give her a call, I know you will be extremely happy with her and her team.
