I went to a ladies luncheon last week and a friend brought these and oh my goodness I jumped in face first. They are so good…they are easy to make too! They remind me of the ole sausage balls when I was a kid remember those. But, I like these better. You can use them as an appetizer or as a breakfast item. Thanks Betty! Loved them! They are not the prettest appetizer I have made or the most difficult either but they are easy and really tasty!
Breakfast Sausage English Muffins
2 packages of English Muffins ~ Bay’s Muffins are the best in refrigerated case
1 stick unsalted butter
2- 5oz. jars of Kraft Olde English Cheese Spread
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 minced garlic cloves
1 lb regular sausage
Brown sausage until brown and crumbly. Drain sausage on paper towels to remove excess grease. In a sauce pan add butter and melt, add cheese, garlic and cayenne blend well. Add your sausage to the cheese mixture heat and mix until incorporated.
Spread mixture on English muffin halves. Bake in a 400 oven for 12 to 15 minutes until golden and bubbly. For appetizers cut into quarters and for breakfast serve halves. Note: Great to freeze on a cookie sheet, then store in a freezer bag for later.
I am placing a photo of the cheese spread. I have not used this product before. Seems as if it was a hot item the day I went to the grocery store. I had to ask the clerk to show we where it was located. She had 2 others asking for the same thing earlier? Hummm guess they are making Betty’s recipe too?
