Day 7 on the Rhine River Cruise

November 15, 2013 by Angie Leave a Comment

Angie's Rhine River Cruise

We slept in a little today, spent good part of the night and morning sailing. Got up and had an interesting show on Dutch culture. We got to taste some dutch items and learned many things about their customs. We docked in Kinderdijk for a windmill tour. We visited the park seeing many windmills, this is a unique park. It is a Unesco world heritage site with a network of windmills and ingenious flood management system. Looks as if it does rain a lot here. As it was raining today, sun came out then rained again before leaving. People still live in the windmills. There is 19 of them dating from the 14th century.

I have read and seen this on the internet about the man that build a replica of Noah’s Ark…well oh my goodness there really is one…no internet hoax here. I saw it and it is huge….sharing with you. May come in handy here?

Tonight was our last night on the ship…awww I am sad to see it end. What fun we have had. Mr Fixit and I did get an invitation to sit at the Captains table for dinner. Wow huh? What an honor this was for our last evening on board this wonderful ship. We had a lovely meal. I did not put all the courses in the photo. We also had a salmon appetizer, soup, chocolates and cognac….just a lovely evening. Thanks captain Rudy! Thanks to everyone for making my trip so special.
