This is what our wonderful ship looks like…isn’t it grand. We got up bright and early today. Went down for our breakfast which was many different choices to enjoy. Then it was time to go off on our 1st shore excursion. We went to the Black Forest what a beautiful day it was to enjoy the amazing landscape. Lush green rolling hills with sheep dotting the sides of the mountains. We passed many vineyards, villages, churches the more rolling meadows with cows and their little bells. Then we arrived at the dense Black Forrest with little running brooks. We went to see the worlds largest cuckoo clock and watched how they are made. Then went and watched a bakery make black forest cakes.
We drove further up into the forest and higher up to St Peter’s Cathedral. Then back for our lunch on the ship.
After lunch was the 2nd excursion we had many choices today. The men went to the WWII excursion to see the pocket museum in Colmar. They offered another to the town of Colmar but the guide steered us away from this trip due to it being Saturday and here everything in town closes at lunch? hummmmm We are not use to this in the States….closed what ~ why would it be closed? They are going through a renovation as well and had many come back saying they wished they had made another choice. The girls stayed here and went into town here walked around the square and went to see the Cathedral.
Returned for our evening meal. Tonight they have a group coming in to perform for us.
This is the view right out my window isn’t this amazing…so beautiful.
These are the local birds, floating all around the boat right out my balcony.
