Day 5 on the Rhine River Cruise

November 13, 2013 by Angie Leave a Comment

Angie's Rhine River Cruises
Today we got up at 9:00 which gave us the time to sleep in a little…yea! Today we are sailing. We are sailing down the romantic Rhine. We awoke to complete FOG! What….. we did not order fog today? But, I do have to admit it was kinda cool looking. With in 30 minutes or so it burnt off and we could see all of the castles, villages, churches and beautiful scenery.

More Castles…..more castles
Angie's Rhine River Cruises
We had a guide telling us all along our voyage what we were seeing and the history and tales of each. A lovely way to spend the morning. Then we had lunch and headed out to see one of the oldest castles that is the most well preserved castle on the Rhine, The Marksburg Castle.
Angie's Castle Visit
This castle is 700 years old, this is one of the only ones on the Rhine that was not bombed during the war. Marksburg is in great condition. Then we went into the town of Koblenz for a few hours, did a little shopping, had coffee and desserts, had a local beer and enjoyed our visit. Then we went back to the ship for dinner and a show. It was a lovely day. I am looking forward to tomorrow…..come see why.
