My parents have a blueberry orchard. The bushes have gotten larger each year, they are now larger than fruit trees. This year with all the rain we have gotten the bushes are just loaded with blueberries. They have many bushes, they have some that have just volunteered over the years, a volunteer is a bush that has just sprouted on it’s own. They have a nice collection of bushes. One fun fact about blueberries bushes is this….see each bush’s, berries taste differently than the other. Some are sweet, some are sour, some are huge and some are small, each tasting differently than the next. I do have a favorite bush. With mom and dad having all those blue berries we have to come up with new fun ways to use them. My family loves the greek yogurt. So, this is a twist on the 2 together.
Red White and Blue Yogurt Parfait
2 cups chopped strawberries
2 cups blue berries
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup greek yogurt
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla paste
1 cup crumbled meringue cookies
Mix the brown sugar, vanilla and greek yogurt together, set aside. Beat the heavy cream until it is light and fluffy. Fold the brown sugar into the cream once all mixed together. Layer the fruit into a dish {strawberries}, then layer whipped cream mixture, next the crumbled cookies, top layer is blueberries. Store in refrigerator.

Wow, I love those little glass jar containers for the yogurt parfait that you are using. May I ask – where did you buy them? I would love to get them myself for my family.
Luda, these jars are made by Weck they sale them at Williams and Sonoma and other places as well. I got them from my mom shop in Mississippi. They have the cutest jars in all different shapes and sizes.

Thank you so much for letting me know. They are absolutely gorgeous looking jars – this is where I can start putting homemade grass-fed yogurt. I am so thankful to you!
