Banana Bread

June 14, 2012 by Angie 2 Comments

This is such an old recipe…oh dear me someone gave me this before I got married…now that was a long time ago. It is a great one easy not to much fuss and yet it is a good banana bread. Great way to use those ole bananas. But, we wanted to make the banana bread and the bananas kept disappearing so dang had to go out and buy more over and over again. Had to tell those boys DO NOT EAT my bananas!!

Banana Bread

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 large eggs
3 bananas very ripe and brown is fine
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
2 cups flour
1 cup chopped pecans
3 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt

Cream butter, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt, cream until light and fluffy making sure all are completely mixed and incorporated together. Then add the remaining ingredients mix well. Pour batter into a buttered and floured loaf pan. Bake at 325 for about 45 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.
