Isn’t this beautiful?
This is just such a beautiful beach. The sand is so white and fluffy. The water is emerald green and then deeper blue. I love coming here. I love this time of year, when it is warm in the sun but yet crisp cool in the shade. Early spring….Lovely here just lovely! South Walton Beach is great place to bring the family on vacation. There is Watercolor, Seaside, Sea Grove, Rosemary, Summers Edge and Alys Beach all right together. I think my pick is Watercolor why it has all the pools and club house to use and it is right next to SeaSide. Seaside has places to shop, places to eat and concerts. Seaside does not have the pools and beach club that Watercolor does. I have stayed at both many times over the years. We like to rent a home and stay the whole week. The homes are so inviting makes you want you to pull up a chair get a good book and a nice cold drink and relaxing…Many homes have large porches with chairs and swings. Just right for enjoying the day or passer byes.
Maybe go for a walk with the dog or ride the bike. Such a beautiful day. Maybe head to the beach for a little sun with a magazine or a beach novel?
Okay….I have to say something about the food. There is many places to eat here many I love and have dined at for years. This is a resort town for the most part and it is hard for a place to weather this….year after year. It is feast or famine. It is feast in the season and famine in the winter months.
Seagrove Village Market Cafe ~ Grouper sandwich love it.
When we come for a week we will eat here 3 ~ 4 days for lunch. It is a place you can ride the bike to and are welcomed in a beach cover up. Wonderful food for a fair price.
The other place we love is Pizza by the Sea. We will eat here the rest of the days. You can ride the bike here as well and are welcomed in a beach cover up. It is in the Publix Shopping Center and No it is not by the sea…this photo is awful but I assure you the pizza is wonderful. The salads are good and the cookies so yummy and homemade fresh each day. Those of you that know me, I love iced tea and theirs is simply wonderful…mango tea! Love it! They have the pellet ice too!
This time we tried the new “V” at Seagrove.
This is their fine Dining in this area. We have tried all the places at one time or another. Many I am sad to say are really over priced for the food and level of skill you get. The V is a lovely place beautiful place to dine. Has wonderful atmosphere. With the colors of the beach and fresh new look. I love all the water and sound effects of the water. Great job with the space and planning here. But, the food did not measure up to my expectations. We tried many items on the menu. I would go for a glass of wine visit and maybe an appetizer and call it a night. Then go next door get the grilled grouper pay half the price at the place I go for lunch ~ fun thing it is owned by the same people?
I best Dinner was at Stinky’s which is somewhat of a drive. We had the grilled fish of the day topped with fresh crab meat.
We did dinner at other places but they did not fare as well as these so I am going to air on the lets not say anything, since we can not say any thing nice.
If you have never been to this part of the world…then do not go. Then there be less people there for me to run over on my bike heee heee…kidding it is a wonderful beautiful place. Go and see for yourself. Can’t you feel the sea breeze in your hair and smell the salt air…go…go!
