Home Made Carmel Sauce

December 22, 2011 by Angie 7 Comments

This is a great thing to have a around to add to many different desserts. We all love it on ice cream or on hot brownies. It is a great item to make for gifts to give at Christmas time.

Homemade Carmel Sauce

1/2 stick of butter
1/2 cup of sugar

Put the butter in the heavy pan and melt ~ add the sugar without getting all over the pan. Saute on low until darker color about 8 minutes ~ I swirled pan around ~ do not stir! Once color is a light brown.

1/4 cup or more heavy whipping cream

Once right color add a little cream whisking all the while continue to whisk and add more cream until getting just right. Stir until all comes together.

Add a pinch of Malton salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Stir in and then ~ strain and put in a jar. Wonderful !!! This makes 2 jars this size.
